Text card for the MGSD 00 Raiser: March 2027 in Japan at 6,050 yen with tax, US preorders at 67.99 and 68.95 dollars

Bandai's MGSD 00 Raiser is scheduled for March 2027 in Japan at ¥6,050 with tax, GUNDAM Official's lineup post says, which makes it the second-dearest regular MGSD after the Kshatriya. For a US builder the choice is timing: two shops already take preorders near $68, tagged for Q2 2027 and May 2027.

Key Takeaways

  • Name as listed: MGSD 00 RAISER (Bandai item 01_7379), from Mobile Suit Gundam 00.
  • Japan: March 2027, ¥6,050 with tax (¥5,500 before tax).
  • US, Oct 26: $68.95 preorder at Gundam Planet, May 2027 arrival (distributor estimate); $67.99 preorder at USA Gundam Store, tagged Q2 2027.
  • In the box: the O Raiser, three swords, two shields, two beam sabers and effect parts, per a US listing.
  • Age mark: 15 and up.

What Happened

GUNDAM Official reported Bandai's January to March 2027 Gunpla lineup on August 26: 17 items, including the FULL MECHANICS Graze Ein, the RG Gundam Ground Type, the MGEX Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam, the MGSD 00 RAISER, the HG Hamma-Hamma and 12 Gundam Decals. The MGSD 00 RAISER sits under "March 2027 Releases" with "Price: 6,050 yen (tax included)" and a link to Bandai's item page 01_7379. Our copy of Bandai's Japanese item list shows the same month and price, filed under Mobile Suit Gundam 00.

MGSD is Master Grade SD: super-deformed proportions with a Master Grade-style inner frame. Gundam Planet's listing (Bandai's product text, as the shop reproduces it) gives the gimmicks:

  • The shoulder GN Drives rotate and open to show clear parts; the O Raiser has its own "reflection-cut exposure gimmick."
  • An MGSD inner frame that keeps the 00 Gundam and O Raiser combination and "a wide range of articulation."
  • Engraved markings on the lens parts, including the GN Condensers.
  • Beam effect parts for the GN Sword II and GN Sword III, and the GN Sword II to GN Shield connection.

The listing's accessory line: one O Raiser, two GN Sword II, one GN Sword III, one beam effect parts set, two GN Shields, two GN Beam Sabers and one sticker sheet. It also says "You don't need cement" and "You don't need paint", and "Recommended for 15 years & up."

Why It Matters

MGSD is a small line, and the 00 Raiser is only its seventh regular kit in Bandai's Japanese list. It is also priced above most of them.

Desk note: In our copy of Bandai's list, regular MGSD kits are listed at ¥4,290 (Freedom, Barbatos, Aerial) or ¥4,950 (Wing Gundam Zero EW, Destiny) with tax, and ¥7,700 for the Kshatriya; the 00 Raiser comes in at ¥6,050. In the US, Gundam Planet had the ¥4,290 kits at $50.95 to $54.95 on Oct 16 and the 00 Raiser at $68.95 on Oct 24. That is $1.14 per ¥100 for the 00 Raiser against $1.28 for the Freedom, so the US markup is smaller on the dearer kit.

Bar chart of regular MGSD kits by Japan price with tax: Freedom, Barbatos and Aerial at 4,290 yen, Wing Gundam Zero EW and Destiny at 4,950 yen, 00 Raiser at 6,050 yen, Kshatriya at 7,700 yen Diagram: PlamoDesk. Data: our copy of Bandai Hobby Site Japan's item list (data/kits/catalog-jp.json), regular releases only; Gundam Base and Premium Bandai versions left out.

The 00 Raiser is also on sale in six grades at once. On Oct 24 the two US shops listed it as follows (two Gundam Planet rows rechecked Oct 25):

KitGundam PlanetUSA Gundam Store
Gundam BB Senshi #322 00 Raiser$12.95, in stock (Oct 25)$12.99, in stock
HG00 00 Raiser (Designer's Color Ver.)not in results (Oct 25)$22.99, in stock
RG 00 Raiser$38.95, in stock$40.99, in stock
MGSD 00 Raiser$68.95, preorder May 2027 (Oct 26)$67.99, preorder Q2 2027
MG 00 Raiser$84.95, in stock$84.99, in stock
PG 00 Gundam + 00 Raiser$298.95, in stock$325.99, in stock

So the MGSD costs $30 more than the RG of the same suit at Gundam Planet and $16 less than the MG. You are paying for the SD frame and the gimmicks, not for size.

Our take

Plan for it, but preorder only if a Q2 2027 arrival suits you. The 00 Raiser is ¥6,050 in Japan for March 2027, and the two US preorders are within $1 of each other, $67.99 and $68.95, so there is no price race to win. If you want this suit sooner and smaller, the RG at $38.95 was in stock on Oct 24. We recheck the US dates when Bandai's English site lists the kit.

What we don't know yet: a firm US release date. USA Gundam Store's "Q2 2027" is a shop tag, and Gundam Planet's "May 2027 Arrival" is, in the shop's words, an estimate from the official North American distributor.

How we checked this

On Oct 24, 2026 we read GUNDAM Official's January to March 2027 lineup post, our copy of Bandai Hobby Site Japan's item list (Bandai's site was in maintenance that day, so we could not reopen the item page), and Gundam Planet and USA Gundam Store search results for "MGSD 00 Raiser". On Oct 26 we reopened Bandai's item page (¥6,050) and both shops' MGSD listings, which is where Gundam Planet's May 2027 estimate appeared. Oct 16 prices for other MGSD kits come from our SD Gundam article's source table. We have not built this kit.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the MGSD 00 Raiser come out? March 2027 in Japan. GUNDAM Official listed the MGSD 00 RAISER among Bandai's March 2027 releases, and Bandai's Japanese item list gives the same month. US shops tag it later: on Oct 26 USA Gundam Store marked its preorder Q2 2027, and Gundam Planet showed a May 2027 arrival, a distributor estimate.

How much is the MGSD 00 Raiser? 6,050 yen with tax in Japan, per GUNDAM Official. In the US on Oct 24, Gundam Planet listed it at $68.95 and USA Gundam Store at $67.99 as a preorder, down from a $69.99 list price.

What comes in the MGSD 00 Raiser box? The O Raiser, two GN Sword IIs, a GN Sword III, a beam effect parts set for both swords, two GN Shields, two GN Beam Sabers and a sticker sheet, according to Gundam Planet's listing. The same listing marks it 15 and up, with no cement or paint needed.

Is the MGSD 00 Raiser more expensive than other MGSD kits? Yes, except for the Kshatriya. Bandai's Japanese list prices the regular MGSD Freedom, Barbatos and Aerial at 4,290 yen with tax, the Wing Gundam Zero EW and Destiny at 4,950 yen, the Kshatriya at 7,700 yen, and the 00 Raiser at 6,050 yen.

Which 00 Raiser kit should I buy, MGSD or RG? It depends on scale and budget. On Oct 24 Gundam Planet listed the RG 00 Raiser at $38.95 and the MGSD at $68.95; the MG was $84.95 and the PG $298.95. The MGSD is a super-deformed kit with an inner frame, not a 1/144 or 1/100 scale model.
