Gunpla Releasing in January 2027: Graze Ein + 18 More

Three Gundam grade kits head the Gunpla releasing in January 2027 on Bandai's Japanese list, more than in any month of late 2026, and the biggest is the FULL MECHANICS 1/100 Graze Ein at ¥7,150 with tax. Two of the three are new HG suits, one from a film and one from a game, so the choice for a US builder is which preorder to place now. The odd detail: Bandai's English schedule for the month lists only one item, a Keroro kit.

As of Oct 19, 2026: Bandai's Japanese prices (with tax) and months as listed that day, US shop listings read the same evening. Bandai may change both; we recheck weekly and log changes below.

Key Takeaways

• 19 items on Bandai's Japanese January 2027 schedule, all marked 2027年01月 with no day.
• 3 Gundam grade kits: FULL MECHANICS 1/100 Graze Ein (¥7,150), HG Strike Freedom SEED FREEDOM ZERO Ver. (¥2,970), HG Gundam Helix (¥2,750).
• Price range: ¥385 (a Plakoro box) to ¥7,150 (the Graze Ein), Japan prices with tax.
• No MG, RG or PG. The quarter's only RG Gundam kit, the RG Gundam Ground Type, is a February kit.

• For US builders: USA Gundam Store tags the two HG kits Q1 2027 and the Graze Ein Q2 2027.

Overview: the 19 items on Bandai's January 2027 list

The Japanese January 2027 schedule has 19 general-release cards, plus a separate section of Premium Bandai items that we leave out here. Bandai's English schedule for the same month showed "The requested content does not exist." on Oct 19 and only the HG New Tamama Robo on Oct 21, so the names below are Bandai's Japanese names, with GUNDAM Official's English name or our translation in brackets.

The Gundam kits and add-ons

The Status column follows Bandai's own labels: two items carry 仮 (Tentative name). Age marks come from the item pages we opened; we did not open the four decal pages, so their cells are blank.

The other lines

English names in brackets are US shop names for the 30 Minutes items and our translation for the rest. The HG New Tamama Robo is a Keroro Gunso kit, not a Gundam, and Plakoro is a Pokémon line.

Analysis: three grade kits, two new suits

FULL MECHANICS 1/100 Graze Ein. The month's biggest kit, from Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. Bandai's Japanese page says it is newly sculpted, with updated joints, for the close-combat poses from the show (our translation). The face guard opens, the pile bunker fires as in the show, a hand swap gives the screw punch, and the movable toes give the drill kick without swapping parts.

HG Strike Freedom Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO Ver. A Tentative name, and Bandai says details come later. Its page names a structure built for the suit's signature poses and a beam saber effect molded in a color gradient. Our SEED FREEDOM ZERO Gunpla guide covers all five items from the film, including Option Parts Set Gunpla 21, also on this list.

HG Gundam Helix. The main mobile suit of GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT, a 2027 action game from Bandai Namco, per GUNDAM Official. Flaps on the arms and legs open, and the sword has two forms. Its page says you can customize it with other Rogue Orbit products, as in the game (our translation).

The two Gundam Assemble packs are miniatures for Bandai's tabletop game: EX06 comes with two unpainted miniatures and EX07 with three, according to their pages. Our Gundam Assemble guide explains the game.

Desk note: Our copy of Bandai's Japanese list gives January 2027 three Gundam grade kits (two HG, one Full Mechanics). October, November and December 2026 have one, one and two. February 2027 has four. So January is busier for new Gundam kits than any month of late 2026, while its total, 19 general items, is the smallest of the six months from October 2026 to March 2027.

The four Gundam Decal sheets fit three RG kits and the HG Zeta line. If water decals are new to you, our water decals guide starts with Bandai's own method.

What it means for US builders

The schedule month is Japan's month. On Oct 19, US shops already took orders for most of the list, with later windows:

Diagram: PlamoDesk. Sources: USA Gundam Store and Gundam Planet search, Oct 19.

Gundam Planet's search data gave prices but no arrival months, and its product pages did not load for us that evening. On Oct 22 they loaded, at the same prices: preorders with a February 2027 arrival for the two HG kits, the option parts set and both Gundam Assemble packs, and a March 2027 arrival for the Graze Ein. USA Gundam Store also listed the 30MM Spinatia (Beast Type) at $20.99, the 30MF Class-Up Armor (Savage Hunter) at $12.99 and two of the 30MS items, all tagged Q2 2027. Shop terms differ; our guide to where to buy Gunpla in the US compares them.

What builders say

The kits are not out. This exchange is from an r/Gunpla thread on the Helix's January date, posted Oct 2, 2026:

• "That Kanji says Ichi-gatsu. Or 1st Month. It's 4 months away bruh." (comment)
• "My bad, it says 2027. Guess I still live in 2025." (comment)

Reading 2027年01月 right is half the job; the other half is the US shop's window.

What changed since Oct 19

• Oct 19: first check. Bandai's Japanese schedule: 19 general items, all 2027年01月. Bandai's English January schedule: empty.
• Oct 21: Bandai's English January schedule lists one item, the HG New Tamama Robo at ¥2,800 before tax. The Japanese list is unchanged.
• Oct 22: Gundam Planet's product pages give arrival months: February 2027 for the two HG kits, the option parts set and both Gundam Assemble packs, March 2027 for the Graze Ein. US prices and USA Gundam Store's quarter tags are unchanged.

Our take

Pick by suit: the Graze Ein for a big Iron-Blooded Orphans kit, the Strike Freedom or the Helix for an HG under $27. The Graze Ein is the month's priciest item at ¥7,150, and USA Gundam Store tags it Q2 2027, so budget for a wait. The two HG kits cost the same in the US within a dollar, $26.95 to $26.99, so the film or the game decides it. If you build only MG or RG, skip January and look at February's RG Ground Type. We recheck the Japanese and English schedules weekly until January ends.

How we checked this

On Oct 19 we read Bandai's Japanese January 2027 schedule and the item pages of the three grade kits, the option parts set, both Gundam Assemble packs and two 30 Minutes kits, plus Bandai's January to March 2027 news post. Bandai's English schedule and two English item pages were checked and found empty. Counts by month come from our copy of Bandai's Japanese item list (Oct 18). US prices come from both shops' search data, read that evening. Reddit comments were read through an archive service. On Oct 21 we reread both January schedules, and on Oct 22 both shops' product pages and the quoted comments.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Gunpla comes out in January 2027? Bandai's Japanese schedule lists 19 general-release items for January 2027. Three are Gundam grade kits: the FULL MECHANICS 1/100 Graze Ein at ¥7,150 with tax, the HG 1/144 Strike Freedom Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO Ver. at ¥2,970 and the HG 1/144 Gundam Helix at ¥2,750. The rest are decals, Gundam Assemble packs, an option parts set, 30 Minutes items, a Keroro HG kit and a Plakoro box.

Is there a new MG or RG in January 2027? No. Bandai's Japanese January 2027 schedule has no MG, RG or PG kit. The biggest kit is the FULL MECHANICS 1/100 Graze Ein at ¥7,150 with tax. The only RG Gundam kit on Bandai's January to March 2027 schedules is the RG 1/144 Gundam Ground Type, scheduled for February 2027 at ¥4,620 with tax.

Why is Bandai's English schedule for January 2027 almost empty? Bandai's English schedule page for January 2027 still said "The requested content does not exist." on Oct 19, and the English item pages we tried returned a 404 page. On Oct 21 it listed one item, the HG New Tamama Robo at ¥2,800 before tax, and none of the Gundam kits. Bandai's Japanese schedule already lists all 19 items, so this guide uses the Japanese list and its prices with tax.

When will January 2027 Gunpla arrive in the US? Later than January, for most items. On Oct 19, USA Gundam Store tagged the HG Gundam Helix, the HG Strike Freedom SEED FREEDOM ZERO Ver. and Option Parts Set Gunpla 21 for Q1 2027, and the Graze Ein, both Gundam Assemble packs and the 30 Minutes items for Q2 2027. On Oct 22, Gundam Planet gave a February 2027 arrival for the two HG kits, the option parts set and both Gundam Assemble packs, and March 2027 for the Graze Ein.

How much is the Full Mechanics Graze Ein in the US? On Oct 19, USA Gundam Store listed the Full Mechanics 1/100 Graze Ein at $80.99 as a preorder tagged Q2 2027, and Gundam Planet listed it at $82.95. Bandai's Japan price is ¥7,150 with tax. US prices include import and shop costs, so they will not match a yen conversion.
