Privacy Policy

Overview

PlamoDesk publishes articles about Gunpla and mecha model kits: monthly release lists, grade guides, beginner kits, tools and buying advice. This page explains what happens to your data when you read the site. Short version: there are no accounts, no comments, no newsletter, no ads and no affiliate links, and we never ask who you are.

What we collect

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (run by Google) to count page views, but only after you click Accept on the cookie banner. Until then no analytics script is downloaded, nothing is sent to Google and no analytics cookie is set. Google Consent Mode starts at “denied”; Accept only allows analytics storage, which lets Google Analytics set its first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_ followed by our ID). Advertising storage, ad personalisation and Google signals stay off for everyone. We see totals such as page views, the site that sent you and your approximate country. If you click Decline, nothing loads. Google handles this data under the Google Privacy Policy.

Withdrawing consent. You can change your choice at any time. The button below switches analytics back to “denied”, deletes the Google Analytics cookies, forgets your choice and reloads the page, so the banner asks again and nothing loads until you click Accept. Change or withdraw cookie consent

Things saved in your browser. Your theme choice (light or dark), the articles you save, the articles you have opened, checklist ticks, whether you closed the seasonal note at the top of the page and your cookie banner choice are stored in your browser's localStorage. They never leave your device and we never see them. Clearing your browser data removes them.

“Was this helpful?” votes. Guide articles can show a helpful / not helpful button. We store the vote count per article. To stop repeat votes, we keep a one-way hash of your IP address for about an hour, then it expires. We cannot turn the hash back into your IP address.

Server logs. Like every website, our web server and our network provider (Cloudflare) see your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for when you load a page. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure.

Email. If you email us at admin@plamodesk.com, we keep your message and address only to reply. We never add you to a list or share your address.

Ads and affiliate links

PlamoDesk shows no ads and has no affiliate links, so no ad network or shop tracks you here. If that ever changes, this page will be updated before anything goes live, ads will only load with your consent, and affiliate links will be labelled. See our independence note.

Embedded content and outside links

Articles do not embed Reddit posts, videos or other third-party widgets, so reading an article loads nothing from Reddit, YouTube or other social sites. If we ever add an embed, this page will say which service it comes from before it goes live.

Links to the Bandai Hobby Site, Premium Bandai, model shops and community forums take you to sites with their own privacy policies, which we don't control.

Where the site runs

The site runs on a server we rent from OVHcloud in Canada, behind Cloudflare. We don't sell anything on the site, so we hold no payment details, and we don't sell reader data. Apart from these providers, the only company that receives reader data is Google, for the Google Analytics data described above, and only after you click Accept.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you (in most cases there is none beyond an email you sent us), ask us to delete it, or object to its use. Email admin@plamodesk.com and we'll reply as soon as we can. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), the law may give you further rights, and we will honour them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, for example by switching on analytics, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change goes live.
