HG Hamma-Hamma: March 2027, ¥4,400 in Japan, $50.95 in US
6 min readBy PlamoDesk Editorial

March 2027 in Japan, ¥4,400 with tax: that is the date and price GUNDAM Official's lineup post gives for the HG Hamma-Hamma, the first High Grade of this Gundam ZZ mobile suit in Bandai's Japanese list. A US builder can already order it: Gundam Planet lists it at $50.95, under an "HGUC" title Bandai itself no longer uses.
Key Takeaways
- Name as listed: HG 1/144 Hamma-Hamma (Bandai item 01_7377), from Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ.
- Japan: March 2027, ¥4,400 with tax (¥4,000 before tax).
- US, Oct 24: $50.95 at Gundam Planet, titled "HGUC AMX-103 Hamma-Hamma"; not in USA Gundam Store's search.
- Gimmicks: lead wires for the arm-launching weapons, pull-out arm and hip joints, per the US listing.
- Age mark: 15 and up.
What Happened
GUNDAM Official reported Bandai's January to March 2027 Gunpla lineup on August 26, 17 items in all. Under "March 2027 Releases" it lists "HG 1/144 Hamma-Hamma" with "Price: 4,400 yen (tax included)" and a link to Bandai's item page 01_7377. The same month holds the MGEX Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam and the MGSD 00 RAISER. Our copy of Bandai's Japanese item list files the kit under Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ at the same month and price.
GUNDAM Official's mecha page gives the model number AMX-103 and this description: "An MS equipped with a Wired Psycommu system, tested by the Endra Team. It boasts high mobility thanks to the massive vernier thruster arrays on its shoulders and waist." The pilot listed on the page is Mashymre Cello.
Gundam Planet's listing (Bandai's product text as the shop reproduces it) gives the kit's features:
- The arm claws and the mono-eye are "fully articulated."
- "Pull-out mechanisms in the arms and hip joints" recreate the suit's movement.
- "Lead wires are used to reproduce the arm-launching gimmick."
- The shield stores the beam saber and has "a sliding rail gimmick inspired by mine deployment."
Included, per the listing: a beam saber set, a shield, arm extension parts, an arm extension display base, four lead wires and a sticker sheet. "You don't need cement." "Recommended for 15 years & up."

Why It Matters
This is a gap filled, not a remake. Bandai's Japanese list holds two earlier Hamma-Hamma kits: a 1/144 from August 1986 at ¥880 and an RE/100 1/100 from July 2017 at ¥4,950 with tax. Neither is an HG.
Desk note: At ¥4,400, the HG Hamma-Hamma costs more than twice the ¥2,090 median of the 343 HGUC items in Bandai's list, and only ¥550 less than the 1/100 RE/100 Hamma-Hamma. Gundam Planet's $50.95 is $1.16 per ¥100 of the Japan price, close to the $1.14 of its MGSD 00 Raiser preorder from the same lineup. For a US builder, budget an MG-like price for a 1/144 kit.
It also lands in a busy stretch for ZZ suits. GUNDAM Official announced additional preorders on Oct 19 for the HG 1/144 Döven Wolf and HG 1/144 DREISSEN, both shipping in December 2026 in Japan, and Bandai's list has a Full Armor ZZ Gundam Ver.Ka (MG, February 2026, ¥12,540) and an HG Galluss-J (August 2025, ¥2,750).

The US title is the odd detail. Gundam Planet calls the kit "HGUC AMX-103 Hamma-Hamma", while Bandai and GUNDAM Official call it "HG 1/144 Hamma-Hamma". Our HGUC vs HGCE explainer shows why: no item in Bandai's Japanese list has carried the HGUC prefix since December 2021, but US shops kept it.

Our take
Plan for it if you collect ZZ-era HGs; order early only if a $50.95 1/144 kit fits your budget. The HG Hamma-Hamma is ¥4,400 in Japan, more than twice the HGUC median, and Gundam Planet's price follows that. If you want a Hamma-Hamma now and bigger, the RE/100 exists, though we did not see it in US results on Oct 24. We recheck US listings when Bandai's English schedule adds March 2027.
What we don't know yet: a US arrival month, and whether USA Gundam Store will list it; its search showed no Hamma-Hamma on Oct 24. We also do not know whether the kit shares parts with any earlier kit; the pages we read do not say.
How we checked this
On Oct 24, 2026 we read GUNDAM Official's January to March 2027 lineup post, its Hamma-Hamma mecha page and its Oct 19 preorder notice, our copy of Bandai Hobby Site Japan's item list (Bandai's site was in maintenance, so the item page could not be reopened), and Gundam Planet and USA Gundam Store search results for "Hamma Hamma". We have not built this kit.
Frequently Asked Questions
When does the HG Hamma-Hamma come out? March 2027 in Japan. GUNDAM Official listed the HG 1/144 Hamma-Hamma among Bandai's March 2027 releases, and Bandai's Japanese item list gives the same month. Gundam Planet's US listing gave no arrival month in its search data on Oct 24.
How much is the HG Hamma-Hamma? 4,400 yen with tax in Japan, per GUNDAM Official (4,000 yen before tax). Gundam Planet listed it at $50.95 on Oct 24, titled HGUC AMX-103 Hamma-Hamma. That is above the HGUC median of 2,090 yen in Bandai's list, so it is a large High Grade.
Is there an older Hamma-Hamma Gunpla? Yes, but not an HG in Bandai's Japanese list. It has a 1/144 Hamma Hamma from August 1986 at 880 yen and an RE/100 1/100 Hamma-Hamma from July 2017 at 4,950 yen with tax. The March 2027 kit is the first HG Hamma-Hamma there.
What comes with the HG Hamma-Hamma? A beam saber set, a shield, arm extension parts, an arm extension display base, four lead wires and a sticker sheet, according to Gundam Planet's listing. The lead wires recreate the arm-launching gimmick, and the shield stores the beam saber.
What series is the Hamma-Hamma from? Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. GUNDAM Official's mecha page gives the model number AMX-103 and describes a mobile suit with a Wired Psycommu system, tested by the Endra Team, with large vernier thruster arrays on its shoulders and waist. Its pilot listed there is Mashymre Cello.
